Mr. Shomie Ranjan Das in an eminent educationist. An Alumnus of The Doon School, he has served as the Headmaster of The Doon School, Mayo College and Lawrence School, Sanawar . He had earlier taught in Gordonstoun School in the UK.
After his earlier education at The Doon School, he graduated from St. Xavier's College, of the University of Calcutta and the University of Cambridge. After working at Gordonstoun School where he taught Prince Charles, he was Principal of Mayo College from 1969 to 1974. He then became Headmaster of the Lawrence School, Sanawar in 1974 and held this position until 1988. He served as Headmaster of The Doon Scho ol from 1988 to 1995. After he retired from the Doon School he became an educational consultant and has since been associated with setting up numerous schools all over the country. He is a grandson of SatishRanjan Das, an Indian Barrister and social reformer.
Mrs. Aarti Srivastav started her career as a teacher in 1991 with The Shri Ram School. Three years later,she moved to Vasant Valley School where she worked till 2009, dividing the period of her association with it equally between the junior and the senior school. She was also the Coordinator of the Middle School. Though transactions in Mathematics emerged as her forte, her interactions were equally impactful in the English and Hindi classroom. She was also seen contributing substantially to preparing students for various forensic competitions in the senior school.
Along with her teaching and headships, she engaged in developing curriculum in Mathematics and Hindi. She also found time to conduct workshops for teachers which empowered them to enhance the learning environment in their mathematics lessons. She was invited by several institutions including the Doon School, the Assam Valley School (Assam), the Sanskar Valley School (Bhopal), Nirmal Bhartiya School, Lakshmipat Singhania Academy (Kolkata), and the Oxford University Press to conduct training for their staff. Besides Mathematics, she conducted training in the teaching of English and Hindi and Team building.
Honouring her commitment to society, she accepted the offer to work as a Mathematics resource person with the University School Resource Network (USRN) project with the Zakir Hussain Centre for Educational Studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in the period 2007-2010 and authored a teacher's resource book "Khel Khel Mein Ganit"
She later worked with Universal Learn Today, the education consulting arm of the India Today group, as an Education Development Specialist, where she was responsible for curriculum development, implementation, training and audit in the client schools.
Currently, she is the principal of Sehwag International School, a school set up by Virender Sehwag. It is a boarding cum day school in Silani, Haryana.
While engaged with the multiple roles required of a leader of a school, she also continues to be on the panel of the DIET (District Institute of Educational Training, New Delhi) and frequently contributes to programmes for in-service training of teachers in various government schools in the capital.
Her motivation flows from her interaction with students and facilitators alike. She is passionate about expanding the ways in which people learn. Her interests are trees, flowers, origami, poetry and music.
Mr. Singh started his teaching career in 1998. He has worked with Delhi Public School, Patna where he taught Economics to senior classes. Thereafter, moved to Sarala Birla Academy, Bangalore as the Head of Commerce and Economics and then as Academic Co-ordinator at Taurian world School, Ranchi. Presently, he is Principal of Edify School, Nagpur.
Mr. Singh has authored and co-authored number of books for school children. He has attended number of workshops and seminars related to education issues. He has done subject specific training in IB, Cambridge and ISC curriculums.
Mr Singh is a Quizmaster and has organised and conducted many quiz events for school children. His other hobbies are painting, designing cards and counselling.
Mr. Yaacov Greenstein is a graduate in Chemistry from Yeshiva University, New York. Thereafter, he pursued A.A. in Jewish studies from the same university.
Presently, he is serving as a Director – Software Development, Meroz software Systems, Jerusalem. Mr. Greenstein is actively involved with school education sector. He has developed a School Information Management software called www.stp3.com which is already being used by schools in Israel.www.stp3.com has been launched in India. His interests are biking, hiking and diving.
